Tuesday: July 6

With all the sports, trips and other “extras,” the heart of the Kollel remains the Beis Medrash. Throughout the week we became increasingly more comfortable there, and adapted to the daily schedule of shiurim, chavrusahs and chaburahs. From the Roshei Yeshiva giving Halacha Shiur in the early morning, to the chavrusahs late at night, the campus has been invigorated by the efforts to grow in learning and love for Torah.

Competitive and friendly. Intense and fun. Demanding and welcoming. The balance between these elements is what makes NCSY Kollel’s renowned sports leagues second to none. This week saw the puck dropped on our first few days of hockey games and the tip off for our basketball intramurals. Some early favorites were established, and the week was marked by some outstanding individual performances. Kollel ball is an extension of the beit medrash and at least as great an opportunity for learning and growth.
